About This Title
Hello all, last Halloween I devoted the entirety of October to getting a game out by Halloween, and I technically did it, but the game was pretty buggy and by the last handful of days my brain was so melted that I was sort of operating off of mostly pure momentum...so I’m going to try to do it again! Well, sort of. My goal this time is much more manageable since The Moon Is The Ocean’s Brain (version 2) is closer to being done than Starseed Dementia was, I think, especially considering all this month I have been trying to get the game done by today. Obviously I did not make this deadline but I think with the work I did I can...hopefully even by the middle of October so I have the rest of the month to get the first portion of the DOB exam to you all.
That’s a hope, however. If not the end of October then by the end of the year I want some sort of playable DOB demo or vertical slice for you all to playtest.
Depending on the feedback I get from you all with Discover Our Bodies, I think I will probably just go ahead and devote time to trying to finish it completely. I think in some sense its a good game to be on the Patreon for because I could potentially send you all builds of the game as it progresses...the game is broken up by more straight-forward subjects that are similar to the original Discover My Body (although there are multiple outcomes for each one) and so I could potentially drip feed those to you all, although they would be detached from the other mechanics of the game...it might be something that only the most hardcore are interested in.
I know I have a bunch of half-finished games lying around and I want to finish them all, but I’ve put off Discover Our Bodies for so long and have so many ideas I want to execute on that I might just go for it. Maybe if I absolutely have to take a break from it I can return to something else and finish that and then come back. What do you all think? At the beginning of this year I was hoping to get it done but life got in the way as it often does...
Above I’ve attached some teaser-y footage of The Moon Is The Ocean’s Brain. I hope it is sufficiently spooky for you for spooky season...and just so you all know, the game is very different from the version you may have played before. It has some similar themes and beats but its much bigger/more game-like and a lot spookier and weirder and meaner...
