About This Title
Hey everyone!
Today I’m excited to share a brand-new original fingerstyle arrangement: "Campanella Blues"!
This piece builds its unique flavor around a classic acoustic guitar technique—the "campanella" (little bell) effect—which is introduced during the second repetition of the song to create a shimmering, ringing interplay between overlapping notes.
The Key Technique: The Campanella Effect (2nd Repetition)In the second section of the piece, to create the bell-like chime that gives this blues its name, we play the High E note in two different places simultaneously: on the 1st string open and on the 2nd string at the 5th fret.
The Sliding Accent: On the 2nd string, you don't just hit the 5th fret statically—you perform a quick, snappy slide from the 4th fret up to the 5th fret (E), then immediately let it ring against the open 1st string (E).
The Result: The two identical pitch notes vibrate alongside each other with slightly different string timbres, producing a rich, ringing, bell-like resonance that elevates the second part of the arrangement!
What You’ll Practice in This Lesson:Campanella & Harp-Style Phrasing: Coordinating quick left-hand slides with open-string sustain for maximum resonance during the second theme.
Blues Groove & Arrangement Structure: Maintaining a solid, driving thumb-bass foundation while building dynamic intensity across repetitions.
Precision Sliding: Training the left hand to execute fast, clean 1-fret micro-slides without damping adjacent strings.
What’s Included:Full Play-Along Video: High-definition, close-up performance (no-talking format) highlighting left-hand sliding mechanics and right-hand fingerings.
Printable PDF TAB & Sheet Music: Complete, meticulous notation with precise fret positions and fingerings.
Download the PDF below, practice the slide and open-string resonance slowly, and enjoy playing "Campanella Blues"!
