About This Title
Wondrous item, rare
When you take damage from falling at least 20 feet while wearing this pin, you can choose to only take damage for the first 10 feet you fell. Any further damage is prevented and instead converted into explosive energy, which erupts from you in a 5-foot radius when you land. The radius increases by another 5 feet for each additional d6 of falling damage that's prevented in this way after the first (up to a maximum of a 20-foot radius). Each creature within the area (other than you) must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take fire damage equal to 1d6 + the prevented falling damage, up to a maximum of 10d6. Once this property has been used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.
With a deafening crash, the warrior slammed into the ground from high above. The raiding kobolds' cackles were quickly replaced with screams as they were incinerated and tossed asunder in the blast. All at once, the violence stopped, and the warrior brushed away the embers on her shoulder.
