Hi all, I'm sure that estimated length looks very scary.
As you may have seen on my twitter: https://x.com/realMax0r/status/2113712229803852219?s=20, I have been busy with a lot of bullshit. A lot. The extent of which is kind of difficult to map out. It's been a crazy month, and I'd like to tell you what's planned for the video and what I'm currently doing, why I've been relatively more silent, and what I'm looking forward to.
To put it simply, this video has an absolutely unlimited budget. If I'm making a movie, I will be going all in on making one. Current plans include licensing Kickstart My Heart for the intro, creating unique overlays and cockpit interfaces for each character in the story, creating a fully working and operable vtuber model for the character Tasha to use, working on fully voice acting most of the cutscenes in the game, and also I'm looking into having the Tasha voice actor do a cover of Rise Above for the credits in the style of a vtuber music video.
I haven't worked on much gameplay sections at all. My visual work is essentially cutscenes, and I have about 20 minutes of the video voiced and written, besides the fact that it is not voice acted. This is because I'm fully planning out the video before I finalize visual edits.
If you're concerned about the length: Do remember that the first 5 missions of this game have an IMMENSE amount of cutscenes, and the last 5 missions of the game also share that to a lesser extent, but in the middle they are quite balanced with the exception of the escape from Rio Bajo. So, you can expect the mission counter to increase faster relative to time.
I am allowing myself to write VERY meticulously. This means the entire story is more or less planned out, and so is every character arc. For instance, I am setting up jokes in Mission 4 that pay off in Mission 19. The writing, generally speaking, is also improved because Ace Combat 7 had such a hard deadline.
I have some help, so hopefully this will not be 6 months. Though this being said it's going to be one of the most efficiently produced videos in terms of "How much length do I get per how long it took to edit?"
