About This Title
Yota Tsuji spoke to Fightful for a new interview connected to his MLW appearance.
Tsuji is asked about main eventing MLW, based on his previous comments about wanting the IWGP Title to main event, he said that he didn’t have the request for this match (or previous matches) to be the main event. He is grateful to be part of the MLW show and is being treated in a respectful manner.
He noted that he likes going to the casinos when he visits the US, and enjoys playing blackjack.
When asked about Kenny Omega, Oleg Boltin, and the upcoming Power Struggle match, he said Kenny knows he can’t just challenge for the IWGP Title just because he’s from AEW while others from AEW feel they should get an immediate title shot. Tsuji respects Kenny for wanting to do a three-way match and feels he can build a positive relationship with Kenny and AEW, and wants to face Oleg Boltin in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom to prove the new era of New Japan.
Tsuji responded to Callum Newman saying that Tsuji and Yuto Ice doing chops for 20 minutes isn’t wrestling by saying that New Japan is going towards more traditional moves compared to athletic moves. He also thinks Callum has a unique fighting style. Tsuhi doesn’t have a full definition of Strong Style, but the idea is to win, and accepts Newman’s comment and that he has his own style.
