"During the night patrol at your very (un)interesting job as a goon for a not-so-subtle corporation, nothing really seemed to stand out, the seemingly endless, vacant, boring office rooms all blended together in what could only be described as a sterile, numbing scenery."

"You work through the boredom and continue your shift regardless, it's what they're paying you after all, roaming well outside your designated route, you hear something that breaks the monotonous soundscape you've become so accustomed to, was it a vent breaking? A glass panel being broken? A chair falling over? You cannot tell."

"The sound has passed, and no other sound follows it, Whoever caused clearly wants to avoid making any more noise. Which drives you to investigate with even more intent."

"You enter the dimly lit room in perfect silence, hours and hours of shifts through this building have taught you to navigate it with silent confidence. You find the culprit and get a glimpse of his figure, bottom heavy, a body smaller than yours, armed and distracted."

"There came benefits with the monotony of your work, your direct superior would rather deal with extra paperwork once, than to have you report every single event that happens through your shift. As such, you are given absolute impunity to deal with any and all 'anomalies' that appear through your shift"

"Usually this impunity translates to fire and forget, however, seeing the disctracted scalie's rear brings a more 'diplomatic' solution to your mind, given that the noise of resorting to violence would bring some much unwanted attention, you reckon your new scalie 'friend' will agree to your 'solution', whether he wants to or not."

Had this project in the back burner for a while so i figured i'd finish it today and ended up getting inspired to write a little setup piece to go with it, i hope you like it, it was very fun to write.
