Pet Marking Genetics, puppies & kittens born in game that actually inherit their parents' coats
Ever bred two gorgeous custom-coat pets, waited for the litter… and gotten a carbon copy of one parent? The base game doesn't blend pet coats, it clones mom or dad. Your tie-dye sire and pastel-gradient dam make a puppy that looks like exactly one of them. This mod is best for vibrant/berry themed pets but should work just fine with realistic pet coats too, if you don't like a coat outcome, you can always reroll it.
Pet Marking Genetics fixes that. Offspring now inherit a real mix of both parents' coats, and can grow markings entirely their own.
Marking-by-marking mixing — every painted marking is inherited independently, so littermates get different combinations.
Inherited colors — shared markings get colors interpolated between the parents: dad's magenta + mom's pink → the exact rose between them.
Procedural new markings — pups can grow brand-new patterns from the game's 519 coat patterns, colored from the family palette with hue/saturation variation. Mutation, basically — surprises every litter.
True coat variety — rolled per pup, so a single litter comes out genuinely varied.
