Scarlet Letters - Hellfire Wardrobe

Hellfire is two and a half years old, and some of the code 'borrowed' from games even older. So bits look tired compared to other games. I am trying to sort out the most egregious examples of poor AI art, and do plan to do an early game revamp, but the UI is not my forte, I'm a writer not a coder (makes me think of I'm a lover not a fighter...). Hell, I'm not even that, I'm an amateur who dabbles in writing smut.
Anyhow, I think I have learned a few things over the years. NDP's shop and wardrobe system is slicker than Hellfire's, even if it is smaller in size. The code is tighter, it allows for different body shapes (harder to do in Hellfire with male and female options not just breast size), it does have a range of heads, and the mouseover to show underwear is I think better than showing side by side.
But the shops and getting dressed UI is just basic default twine tables. Its been pointed out as a criticism a couple of times on forums. So I thought I'd reach out and ask you guys. What do you want to do with Hellfire's shop/wardrobe UI?
If you put option C I do need specifics. I've had a lot of "your UI is dated" but less of "game Y is better because...". I can look at code to do things but need a nudge in the right direction.
