Good Perch Comics - World of Steve: Kirsten Junior Part Two
infoAbout This Title
Kirsten, my old girlfriend from something like twenty years ago, recently came back into my life, as I stated in a previous blog. I won't repeat myself too much, but I wanted to talk today about how much I just adore her kid...
She is so much like her mom, but more than that- she is very funny and makes me feel young again. My son, Stanley, is sorta still at odds with me. I don't think he trusts me... not sure he ever will. But that's my own fault. I hurt Stanley by taking my own insecurities and darkness out on him. Poor kid only knows the dark sides of life it seems.
I am haunted whenever I look at that boy... I see myself, down to the resentment. It hurts to know I failed the same way my own father did. I hope he sees the way Kirsten Junior trusts me and it opens him up to trusting me as well.
Kirsten, the kid one, actually wanted to take a picture with me! Selfie time!
Do you guys see her freckles?? How about those big ol' eyes of hers?? The wet little nose?? I look like a rotting corpse next to someone as cute as her, but I love this photo anyway. I'm. grateful the world brought us together and I can reunite this sweetheart with her mother soon! I feel so warm having her and her mother in my life, even if they end up moving on from me.
I'll leave you with this tip: The clock's ticking. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Do YOU know when your time's up?
