Features
Property Purchasing
Players can now purchase property in other regions, opening up business further afar. Purchasing property is expensive, but unlocks the following:
New Save Location
Players who save in towns with a property purchased can load back into that town when returning to the game.
Narrative
Each new property has a new letter, diary or note to further continue the story of Keiko's grandfather.
New Jobs
With access to a new town, player can accept all new local jobs, classifieds and travel to point of interest.
New Upgrade
Each town has a region-specific upgrade for the player to purchase, these include the Engine Hoist, PC-89 computer and all new Storage Cabinet.
New Out of Town Locations
Wadashime: Batako Dealership.
Mizunuma: Daizo Dealership.
Yamanashi: Tyre Specialist.
New Vending Access
Players can build their vending empire even bigger, with access to whole areas to install and manage their machines.
New Truck Storage
Players can now purchase and store multiple trucks.
Wadashima and Mizunuma provide 1 truck storage slot, Yamanashi provides 2.
New Inaka Environmental Tile sets (crops)
More environmental tile sets have been added to increase world generation variation. This tileset's theme is "crops". 3 straight and 2 curved tile sets have now been added.
New Wadashima Property
Purchase a new home garage in Wadashima, grandpa's old fermentation shack, and discover its features and secrets!
New Yamanashi Property
Purchase a new home garage in Yamanashi, grandpa's old mechanics garage, and discover its features and secrets!
Storage Cabinet
Purchase the new Storage Cabinet to store, organise and retain access to your Truck Components, Repair Parts, Trade Goods, Spray Paint and Vending Machines. Items within the Storage Cabinet are accessible from each property. The Repair Bench will automatically draw Repair Parts from the Storage Cabinet when repairing Truck Components.
A New Sense of Speed
Travelling at high-speeds now applies turbulence. Wind audio and visual effects are present when travelling at high speeds. FOV will change based on speed as will camera shake. Camera shake effect can be turned off in the Video options' menu. The effects of these vary for each truck type.
Truck Storage
Players can now store and retrieve trucks from any of their Home Garages. The option to store a truck is now available when purchasing a new truck. Opening up multiple projects for players to work on.
New Toyoda Engines
I've added three new engines as "chase loot" to the game. "Chase loot" is extremely rare but highly coveted items in videogame speak. These are currently the best engines in the game but have a very low drop rate. Getting one with a Turbo and several Stage 4 rolls is so rare it might as well not exist. If you do get one with those, tell your mom to come into the room and show here how lucky you are.

New Toyoda Ignition Coils
The new Toyoda engines require special Toyoda ignition coils. Daizo ignition coils won't work.

New Toyoda Transmission
The Toyoda transmission gives the best top-speed performance output for all the new Toyoda engines. This is also extremely rare.

New Engine Unique Attributes
Along with the new engines, new engine unique attributes have been added to improve performance of various engines in the game.
Camshaft: Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4
Cylinder Head: Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4
Throttle Body: Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4
Intake Manifold: Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4
All increase max torque, max RPM and sell value at varying amounts
the GPE engine cannot roll these uniques
New Tyre Unique Attributes: Tread Type
Better grip was needed to handle the power of the new engines and various new unique engine attributes. I've added a new unique attribute group to the tyres in the game to help with the required additional grip. The following Tyre Tread attributes can now roll on Tyres.
Slick (Dry Grip ++, Wet Grip --)
Sport (Dry Grip +, Wet Grip -)
Intermediate (Wet Grip +, Dry Grip -)
Wet (Wet Grip ++, Dry Grip --)
Endurance (Max Condition ++)
Touring (Max Condition +, Wet Grip +)
Performance (Max Condition +, Dry Grip +)
Batako Type tyres can only roll Endurance, Touring and Performance Tread Types
All tyres may not roll any of these unique attributes, so be sure to shop around!
New Tyre artwork added to reflect which tread type is installed
Deliveries Reworked
Loading each delivery by hand quickly became tedious, I've bulked trade goods into bigger piles so this process is much less painful. Thankfully, as Keiko is strong enough to lift an engine, she's also strong enough to lift these too (this is canon, put it in a wiki or something).
Delivery goods now handled in bulk. With delivery good amounts ranging from 1 - 3 (down from 1 - 20).
Delivery produce is now determined by the goods produced in a region.
Delivery payouts are now influenced by economic events.
Delivery payout scaling now much tighter.
Delivery routes now generate 1 close, 1 medium and 1 far (previously distances were assigned randomly).
New "Missing Delivery" Job
There is now a daily 50% chance for each region to host a Missing Delivery Job. In this job, players are tasked to locate the lost delivery truck for the client. These jobs don't pay in cash, but the client allows players to keep any remaining cargo they find.
Find the abandoned delivery truck and retrieve the cargo for yourself.
Upon finding the truck, spawns 6 - 12 Repair Parts.
Repair Parts spawn with an additional 15% - 50% rarity value (meaning a higher chance of rarer Repair Parts).
However, these routes contain no spawned loot (Kusahiro, abandoned goods or vending machines).
Each region has a 50% chance to generate a Missing Delivery Job per day.
Performance Improvements
The size of the patch notes here don't reflect the large CPU performance gains of replacing the Steam Audio solution. Performance should noticeably improve for all users.
Added LODs to Item Carriers (drink crates)
Added LODs to Repair Parts
Removed and replaced Steam Audio with a state-based approach for large CPU performance gain
Other Changes
Headlights, Indicators and Rear Lights have had their function breakpoint repair part changed from Glass Panel to Plastics.
Plastics more common than glass panels, this change should help with feasibility of repairing these parts.
Improved placement of cargo on Trailer Beds.
Loot Icons on route maps will show as completed if player has selected them from the map and arrived at that location.
Classifieds adverts now regenerate daily at 8:00am.
Classifieds will still regenerate on leaving town and loading into game.
Classifieds Upgrades are now location specific.
Engine Hoist now sold in Wadashima.
Storage Cabinet now sold in Mizunuma.
PC-89 Computer now sold in Yamanashi.
Tutorials now have a queue system and a slight delay, this may cause issues.
Reduced the distances between towns by 33%, meaning shorter journey times between locations.
Removed prop clutter in Wadashima Garage.
Steam Audio solution has been removed, greatly improving CPU performance
Steam Audio uses a ray tracing system to give realistic audio bouncing. Removing this feature has lowered the
audio simulation, but by not calculating these ray traces we lessen the strain on the CPU significantly
Batako Trailer Bed Canopy colours changed from vivid orange and blue to a more washed out green and blue.
Batako trucks seating is no longer white.
Auto Dealership NPC will now tell you what trucks they specialise in.
Second Hand Part Sellers now generate better parts and are more affected by the rarity value of a route.
Dazio Stock Tyre size reduced to 14".
Recovery Phones will now return player and truck to the nearest property owned.
UI text now has a boiling effect. This has been added as a hairy-arm tactic for players to tell me to revert it so I can sneak other changes in.
Abandoned Delivery Trucks (the trucks that spawn Repair Parts) no longer spawn Tape, Lubricant and Wax Spray.
Balance
Classifieds now guarantee at least 3 Repair Parts (up from 0).
Classifieds now have a maximum of 8 Repair Parts for sale (up from 5).
Reduced Daizo Stock Tyre base max condition from 100 to 50
Reduced Batako Tractor Tyre 1 base max condition from 120 to 60
Reduced Batako Tractor type 2 base max condition from 80 to 40
Repair Parts rarity spawning has been adjusted to increase the chance of rarer spawns with higher rarity value from the route.
Previously, the rarity of the route being higher would simply compress the rarity pool of each item, with an increased rarity of 100% leading to even chance of all item types spawning, this produced bad results (pure random).
Instead, Repair Parts now use an inverse exponent algorithm that should result in route rarity impacting the chance of rarer repair parts spawning.
Rate at which Lubricant Spray and Wax Spray restore parts increased by 300%
Fixes
Fixed fatigue never depleting.

Fixed some missing collisions on coastline at Yamanashi.
Fixed auto dealer breaking when trying to generate trucks below a certain grade and missing a water tank.
Fixed Daizo door closing audio sometimes cutting out.
Fixed black corrupted effect when driving through Wadashima - Yamanashi terrain.
Landmark Tiles for towns will no longer show up on the map if the world generation doesn't include them.
Fixed tyre wear calc reducing grip too aggressively.
Fixed shops generating components not correctly adjusting the maximum condition from unique attributes.
Fixed notable features string on Truck Auctions not correctly displaying "exhaust fumes tinted".
Fixed UI rounding issue with max horsepower, max torque and max rpm differences.
Fixed AI pathfinding causing them to drive off track.
Fixed previously completed jobs not being accessible.
Fixed issue with recovery phones saving route data.
Fixed Crate Equipped UI appearing when placing a trade good into a crate by hand.
Fixed Market trying to sell you items you've already purchased.
Cashier sale amount correctly set to zero upon purchasing trade goods from the market.
Tab Details UI should now give more accurate information for the job or route the player is on.
Designer Notes
A lot of the changes above aim to rectify the pain points players are having with acquiring Repair Parts. Go ahead, ctrl+f repair parts and see how many changes reflect this.
AI has mostly been fixed. It took a lot of work with a lot of changes, so I won't go into detail.
Performance should be noticeably better with the removal of Steam Audio. Details on this are in a previous post here.
Currently not happy with the Vending Machine rewards. The juice isn't currently worth the squeeze. I have some usability changes I want to make, but I think a reward that isn't strictly monetary would be good here. The current idea is that market share could lead to investment opportunities, which then help influence region prosperity. Which would kill two birds with one stone.
Region prosperity improving would then see improved road conditions, item rarity on routes. Both leading to better payoffs along those routes. This is all high-level thinking right now, but I'm aware vending machines aren't working as the end-game solution that's currently needed.
Markets also need some love. I find in my playthroughs I'll acquire a fair bit of trade goods for the vending machine that are just sat around taking up space. Bulk selling could be a solution here, but I didn't have an opportunity to get it implemented into 0.4. This would lean into the arbitrage systems currently in the game.
The ability to sell stored truck is needed.
Thanks again for all the support. It's been a huge privilege to work on refining a game I believe will be great, without being at the mercy of Steam reviews or publisher demands. Thank you.
