Not every Forge Centaur is born perfect.
Some emerge from the forge twisted by unusual mutations. Others suffer wounds hthat would leave a lesser warrior broken and useless on the battlefield.
To the Evil Dwarfs, however, these are not weaknesses.
They are gifts from the dark gods.
The challenge falls to a Fellsmith to take what remains and use their darkest imagination to create something greater; combining the brute strength of a Forge Centaur with the most vicious innovations their forge can produce.
The result is an Ironstorm.
This Ironstorm has been armed with three enormous spinning blades, while bladed chains whirl around it as it charges. What reaches the enemy is a blur of iron, chain and fury, crushing and slicing apart anything unfortunate enough to stand in its path.
A New Furnace Cult
The Forge Centaur Ironstorm joins the Furnace Cults this September and will be available to all Forge Masters as part of their September rewards.
It's designed to fit a 60x100mm base, giving you an alternative for something like a Skullcracker while keeping it firmly within the MeshyMesh Forge Centaur family.
To make that work, the Forge Centaur components have been scaled to 80% of their usual size, but I've kept the modularity.
The upper torso carrying the spinning blades and chains can be combined with different lower bodies from the Forge Centaur range, including the Light Armour variants, while the Ironstorm heads can also be swapped across the range.
So, as usual, you don't necessarily have to build it exactly the way I have.
Where the Ironstorm Goes Next
One of the things I really like about this Furnace Cult is that an Ironstorm isn't defined by one particular appearance.
Each begins with a Forge Centaur whose mutation or wounds present a Fellsmith with a new challenge. What that Fellsmith creates from it could be very different each time.
This one became a storm of spinning blades and chains.
The next one could become something else entirely.
