OneDropRain - The Grand Plan

infoAbout This Title

Hello, Dear Readers.

I have a plan, and you might not like it, because you like my story (and I’m very happy about that part). Still, here it is, laid out in full.

Right now, I’m finishing Act 3 of The Art Mage, and I intend to end it with a bang. And after that, even though it will be nowhere near the end of Alexa’s story, I’m going to focus on my other project, The Art of Magic, for a while.

If The Art of Magic becomes a success and allows me to focus solely on writing, I will continue writing it while also returning to The Art Mage. I will take down the current version of The Art Mage and rework the first three books, making a few changes and bringing them up to my current level of writing skill. Then I’ll release those books on Amazon and work toward getting them produced in audiobook format.

Once that is done, I’ll start working on Act 4/Book 4, and release it directly on Amazon Kindle. I will still post it on Patreon so you can follow along, but there will be no Royal Road release.

Most likely, I’ll continue releasing it chapter by chapter (more rarely), but the chapters will be longer and more packed with content. I also plan to combine some of the previously released chapters to create more cohesive narratives.

All of that depends on The Art of Magic being successful enough for me to make writing my full-time focus. If it isn’t successful, I have a different plan.

I will abandon Royal Road altogether, stop writing The Art of Magic, and focus solely on Alexandra’s story as I originally outlined it. That means taking down the current version of Ideworld, reworking it until I’m satisfied with it, and then rereleasing it in full-book format. After that, I’ll write Act 4 with fewer, but longer and more substantial, chapters.

Once the books have been brought up to the standard I’m satisfied with, anyone here who wants them will be able to get the revised versions for free.

So, that’s my plan.

Either way, for the next few weeks, The Art of Magic will be my main focus. Once I know whether it has succeeded or failed, I’ll make the next decision.

If it succeeds, I’ll return to The Art Mage and begin preparing it for its next stage.

If it fails, I’ll abandon The Art of Magic and return to Ideworld Chronicles: The Art Mage immediately.

I know this is a little complicated, but I wanted to be completely transparent with you about where things are going.

Thank you for sticking with me and Alexa this far.

I just feel like I’d regret it if I didn’t at least try writing something more mainstream. Only after I’ve given that a real shot, and it turns out I’m simply not made for it, will I be able to return to writing Alexa’s adventures with a clear conscience.

Yours,

OneDropRain

P.S. I understand if this disappoints some of you and makes you want to stop being my patrons. I completely understand, and I genuinely encourage you to do so if that’s how you feel. It’s possible that once I finish writing Act 3—which should happen within the next two weeks at the latest—I’ll make the entire act available to my Patrons at once. I haven’t made the final decision yet, but that’s most likely what I’ll do.

I’d like to handle it that way because I don’t want you to feel like you have to keep paying me for the thing that brought you here when, for a while, that thing will no longer be appearing on the page. If any of you misses that window of opportunity give me your email and I will send it in pdf format.
