digitalfoundry - Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 37 2026)
About This Title
Hello! First up, apologies for the lack of Steam Frame review. Shifting schedules meant John wasn't available to do the review, meaning the kit went to me and I've not been well enough to commit myself to a big project with a pressing embargo. I would recommend reading our interview on the standalone version of Half-Life: Alyx though, it's remarkable stuff! We will talk Frame a bit in tomorrow's Q+A taping - so if you have any questions, head over to the Call for Questions post.
For those curious, I'm still taking things easier for now and while I have some smaller projects I may undertake if I'm up for it, steering the ship and participating on Direct is going to be my limit for a while until things have calmed down a bit and I can get back on track. But what about everyone else?
John is finishing up an embargoed project you should expect to see probably early October and is heading out tomorrow night for two weeks in Japan, including visiting TGS. Beyond that, he's going to be reviewing Ace Combat 8 on his return.
Oliver is going to be handling the console review of Control Resonant for us, while also handling Direct. He's also in line for Silent Hill Townfall whenever that may arrive.
Tom is handling an embargoed project but is also keen to look at the latest Fire Emblem game for Switch 2 and really wants to talk COD Modern Warfare 4 based on the recent beta. And of course, when the time is right, he'll be all over The Witcher 3 Remastered.
Rayan is our man handling Control Resonant on PC: ray tracing, path tracing, console comparisons, optimised settings. It's all going to be in there.
Other content this week? Tom has finished his review of The Blood of Dawnwalker on all the consoles and quite revealing it is too. Expect that tomorrow. Marc 'Try4ce' Duddleson's review of Final Fantasy 14 on Switch 2 is finally happening too. DF Retro Super Show? Even though John's on vacation, the rest of the team are still ready to serve up more quality retro content and it's all about the Sega Master System. Still "only the Master of evil" in my books but they seem to like it.
Finally, just another apology that we're not able to cover every single game. We've missed out on some good ones - Star Wars Zero Company, Mortal Shell 2 etc. Sometimes we don't receive code. Sometimes we just don't have the staff resources available. I hope you understand.
As usual, please feel free to suggest topics, ask questions etc. Thank you!
