Jebriodo179 - September roundup
About This Title
Here's the drawings done this month (other than the commissions):
Iron-Man's Malibu Mansion and Secret Base: a commissioned drawing for private client. Inspired by my cutaway drawings in Free Planet, he asked for my take on an Ironman base.
Inked final drawing: this was at comic book spread size, 22"x17" I tried my best to get a lot of stuff in there- I could have spent a little more time on the lab contents I suppose, but I think the Hall of Armor is the focus here.
Initial notes: an idea for the layout of the drawing and a wish-list of what to include.
Digital layout: I wanted this to be an isometric view, so I got my grid laid out and made some ellipses in the proper perspective and built some elements and buildings for easy duplication.
Digital Layout II: I moved around some of the elements to fit things together better, and did more detail work on the structures and various armors. At this point I kind of abandoned any connecting tunnels or architectural verisimilitude in favor of a kind of doll-house/toybox approach where I just showed cool stuff.
Pencils: traced off of a printout onto the final paper. Adding more details and deleting and moving stuff still.
Inks in progress: using up some micron pens doing my best approximation of mechanical drawing.
Drawing Tiny Little Guys:
Couple: ink drawing of a tough guy and his special lady friend
Tricep Photoref: digital painting made from a side by side study of a photo of Zeng Yao https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/2334838/
Termagant Jazzercize: ink and marker drawing of the ferocious Termagant in 80s attire.
Bluenette and Auburne ladies: marker and color pencil drawing of some naked ladies.
Back Studies: pencil sketches of some muscular backs from photoreference to try and keep myself from getting sloppy and making up too much anatomy.
Pensive: ink and wash drawing of a thinking lady where I was indecisive about what shape her arm was.
Nine Women: ink drawing of a bunch of ladies. Trying to draw some distinct faces and avoid the same-face trap.
Doctor Honeyjungle and Friends: ink drawing of Eden Honeyjungle: the woman with the Six-Cylinder Heart! relaxing on the beach, while her friends play in the surf. Featuring Ghost-Slayer Arcani, Scimitar Serpens and Deshabille Wartooth. This is drawn for OC-tober, but even though I started early, I am going so slow on these that I know I will crash out of the month long art challenge yet again.
Maximom Patrol Loadout: ink drawing of the very rarely appearing working mother superheroine, Maximom. the prompt was "What's in her bag" and I think I did a lousy job of drawing a recognizable assortment of crimefighting and babymanaging gear, as well as borking the perspective and doing some lousy shading on her figure. Maybe something to draw again later.
Fisticuff React Image: a repainting of an old Fisticuff panel to use as a reaction on twitter.
