GiantessSandboxDev - Progress Update part 6
About This Title
Hello, everybody. Another progress update for you all!
(Holy wall of text, Batman)
New Mouth Liquid Physics + DroolingThis one is a pretty big change, forgive the pun.
As I was going through the polishing phase for the 'Sleep Time' scenario, I noticed the collection of saliva that pools in the Giantess' mouth was incredibly broken, to say the least.
So, after two days of experimenting with different ways of trying to do this, I managed to figure out a decent way to keep the water plane inside her mouth. The result looks really nice! From certain angles, anyways. There are still issues with it, of course, but it's nothing that I can't iron out (hopefully).
Level LoadingI've spent a good chunk of this week working on the new level loading scheme. It's coming along very well, but there's still a lot to be done. I have yet to start work on porting the other levels as well (Park, Church, etc.), but I'm fairly certain I can knock those out pretty easily.
I've got a few ideas of what to do with the UI aspect of this stuff, but I'm not going to make a promise on anything more than a simple button to start a scenario right now. :P
Getting Scenarios ReadyAs we draw closer to the next update's prime-time (Sometime soon, hopefully!), I've been putting a lot of time into adding starting points for each scenario.
As of right now, I've actually finalized these starting points; There's a pretty decent amount of them per scenario, and they feel diverse enough to me.
Defining starting points and actually implementing them are two different things, though, and I've only finished putting them into three of the five scenarios that I plan to ship with the next update. It's all still a work in progress!
Movement Problems: A Breakthrough?I've narrowed down the reason why the movement was so incredibly buggy (had to do with how certain Unity physics raycasters work), and now that I've fixed it, the Giantess no longer walks to the next city when you're standing on a desk right in front of her. So that's a pretty big win in my book.
I've still got some edge-case testing to do with movement (just in general), so I'm probably not out of the woods yet. Here's hoping, though.
She Can Squat NowIf I hadn't mentioned it before, I've now given the Giantess the ability to squat! Instead of bending down and breaking her poor back every time she wants to eat somebody, she can now squat (where necessary) to accomplish her goals. Much better for the back, you see.
(Bending down is still a thing, but it'll be conditional now as to whether she'll squat, or simply bend down.)
Moving the Respawn MachineIn addition to all of the above, I spent a (small) amount of time adding more detail to Neighborhood's desk. I did this because I wanted to hide the respawn machine from the Giantess' line of sight so she can't just spawn camp you.
That being said, I do want to give the player the ability to choose whether she gets to do that or not, but for right now, it'll simply stay hidden from her until I get around to doing that.
MiscellaneousI've also been doing some very minor polishing here and there. For example, when the Giantess' mouth is open, her lips now slightly open & close in a rhythmic fashion as she breathes, instead of being completely static. I love adding small details like that!
I still don't have a concrete release date for you all yet, but I'm aiming for sometime around mid-to-late December - I'm hoping to get done everything I need to by then.
Anyways, thank you all for your continued patience and support, and I'll see you all in the next progress update!
