shinyheartbeats - HOTEL LEX - FLOOR 5 (2/?)
infoAbout This Title
Thankfully, the hotel hasn't claimed your empathy and you find it in yourself to break open the grate and drop down. The fox jumps back in fright, his hands covering his mouth. You quickly flash a shushing gesture before asking what he's looking for.
He gapes at you and doesn't respond; his eyes flick down and back up and then towards the air duct as he processes what just happened. The bunny lowers himself but struggles to find footing. His clumsy flailing hits a box on a top shelf and it rains down more miscellaneous parts and gears.
"S-shoot!"
He slips and drops down. You catch him and hold him steady in your arms before dropping him down onto the ground where he stands awkwardly from the interaction. While this is happening, the fox spots a large and red plastic gear that came from the box the bunny knocked over and appears delighted. He grabs it and pushes past the both of you and rushes out the door. He turns around to glance at you two before making sure to slam the door shut.
"I-I think we found w-w-what he was looking for," says the bunny.
The two of you peer around this room and you confirm that there were no torches on the walls or that the walls were made of brick and stone. You look down at the assortment of gears the toy was searching through and pick one up. It's made of plastic as well and not metal. You place it on a nearby shelf and continue to explore the room. It's packed full of metal shelves with boxes labeled with various parts of that you assume are used to make toys. The only other path leads out the door so you find yourself somewhat trapped. Unsure of what to look for (besides a pair of pants), you look over at your friend.
"W-we could climb back into there," he says, pointing nervously up back at the open vent.
You look back up and your stomach churns a little. You feel claustrophobic from the time spent crawling through the tight space and bite your lip. Outside the room, you hear the sound of machinery, clicks and clacks of pieces striking each other combined with shuffling movement. Your head spins; all this running and hiding has been torture. You drop down onto the ground and rest your back against the wall. You rub your stomach, noticing just how hungry you have been all this time as well. The bunny hops over and acknowledges similar feelings. He notices you shivering slightly from the air conditioning and takes off his vest hands it to you. You put it on gratefully though it barely reaches your stomach. He sits down next to you and rests his weary head on your shoulder.
> Climb back into the vent.> Rest a little in the room.> Take a peek out the door.
