xPolz - Update DiRT Rally 2.0 | 1.7.0
About This Title
After a lot of work, I'm happy to bring you one of the most complete versions of TrueTriple for DiRT Rally 2.0. I promise I'll move faster now, since I've finished setting up my whole workflow for making videos and dubbing them into English in a clear and acceptable way. I wanted to speed everything up so I can show day by day the things I'm working on and release the Mods I've been promising, like Wreckfest, Forza Horizon 6, F1 25, etc.
Thanks everyone for your patience, and I hope you really enjoy these new improvements! If something doesn't work, don't get mad, just contact me and I'll always try to improve.
Here's what changed since 1.5.3. I never released 1.6, so everything from it is included here.
Screens
New key binds to test your screen setup from inside the game: side angle, distance, zoom and bezel each have a key to raise and a key to lower the value. Hold them to repeat. Whatever you leave set is saved back to the app when you close the game. The keys are shown next to each value in Screens and you can rebind them there.
New zoom control, separate from eye distance. Distance is now only your real measured distance, and field of view is changed with zoom. The side screens no longer stretch at high zoom or FOV. F5/F6 now control zoom. At 100% the image is the same as before.
New "Different monitors" option, for a center monitor that isn't the same as the sides (for example a 34" ultrawide between two 27"). Both side monitors must be the same, and all three need the same vertical resolution. It doesn't work with NVIDIA Surround: use "Three independent monitors". Off by default.
Screens now shows your total degrees of view and the side angle that faces you straight for your distance.
New "Center HUD on the middle screen" option, on by default. Speedometer, times and race indicators go to the middle screen. Menus aren't affected.
Surround: you can choose fullscreen or borderless window. Fullscreen now uses DiRT's own fullscreen mode.
Fixed two dark strips in the bezel gaps in Surround, visible when moving the view with the game paused.
Fixed the triple view turning off for a moment during the camera animation at the start of a stage.
Graphics
New "Hide windshield (droplets and cracks)" option. It hides the windshield glass, so rain drops, dirt and cracks go with it. It doesn't remove only the drops: the whole glass is hidden. Off by default. May vary by car.
TAA is no longer forced off and now works on all three screens. CMAA is no longer forced either, so MSAA works again if you select it.
Optional extra anti-aliasing: FXAA and SMAA 1x (low, medium, high, ultra), separately or together. Applied before menus and HUD, so text stays sharp. Off by default.
New "Advanced graphics settings": LOD and max detail for trees, objects, track and cars, day and night shadow resolution, shadow mask quality, mirrors and reflections. Grass LOD goes up to 3. Changes are written to the game's config file with a backup, with the game closed. Some values outside the game's presets can lower FPS.
"Side objects" now also covers background terrain and shadows, which could disappear on the side screens. New "Shadow correction" option for shadows of nearby vegetation. Both on by default. They cost some FPS and can be turned off to compare.
Fixed shadow artifacts on the side screens with MSAA.
Fixed radial streaks from motion blur on the car and vegetation.
Grass density no longer resets to 15% when you reopen the app. Minimum is now 0%.
App
New interface. The window opens at 1600x960. "Help and solutions" includes the support guides with search.
"Restore default values" button in Configuration, Graphics and Screens. It tells you what gets reset and what doesn't.
If Play is blocked, it now tells you why, and there's a "Check again" button.
Fixed old values from the game overwriting newer bezel, FOV and camera changes made in the app.
Fixed "Remove the mod" leaving an old version of the mod in the game on some PCs. If it happened to you, update the app and remove the mod again. You don't need to reinstall the game.
"Repair" now also restores the car names list (cars showing as "AUTO 51").
The F3 overlay now starts hidden.
If you find a problem, let me know.
Please, if something I've done makes you happy, say so!! Otherwise people usually only comment when something bothers them, and your happiness motivates me too! Thanks everyone for being part of this community of triple screen people and for supporting the project! The future that's coming is incredible, and it's thanks to all of you.
