dateariane - Pic 280: Someone's impersonating Ariane
About This Title
Yay for click bait headlines. I mention in the Halloween post that I subscribe to Daz Premium which entitles me to get the latest Daz character creation for free.
This has been great for finding new models to replace the SITAR characters in my planned upgrade. Like last months Isabella 9 has become my new Bonnie.
Well this months is Lillith 9, and the character she most matches is Ariane! In fact the picture at the top of this post is not Ariane, but Lillith 9 with Ariane's hair, red top, and living room.
This got me thinking, I've been working on a Gen 9 version of Ariane. The difficulty is that the Gen 8 skin textures don't work on Gen 9, and the one I've used temporarily looks good on the face, but the rest of the body looks bad, hence the reason that every Gen 9 Ariane I showed only shows her face.
Well Lillith 9's skin texture, if you lighten it a little works perfectly, as seen above.
But it's close enough that I could use G9 Ariane in SITAR 2, and people who played DAR 2 or AIP 2 would not notice a difference.
On the good side is I can use G9 outfits, like this. But then I put her with other G9 characters. Now Ariane G9 is too light. Color matching G8 wasn't the answer, I needed to color match the other G9 characters. She should be no lighter than Rachel.
So I tried tinkering some more. My original "skin" for Ariane G8 used Milady by Mousso. The artist has a gift for making good skin textures. Most women in all the popular adult visual novels are made with Mousso figures and textures. So I looked for a Mousso texture for G9, only to realize I already had one: Kim that I used for the female player. Instead I found May which looks like the G9 version of Milady. Tried that skin and it fits the right balance.
I've learned my lessons in the past with changing models too quickly, and will have to to play with it a little more. But so far Ariane G9 might be useful in Sitar 2Making this was a chore. Seven characters will not render properly, so I had to layer it. I saved a scene subset of the front 4, the lights, and camera used, then removed them, and rendered the back 3 with the city backdrop. That rendered fine. Then rendered the subset scene using the first render as a background to get this picture.
