dateariane - Pics 281: The New Rachel in SITAR
About This Title
After last week talking about a SITAR Ariane model, this week is all about Rachel. I've done this before here, but I'm still making changes.
Above is the first new Something's In The Air Redux 2.0 render. One of the old sets that will not load into Daz is the restaurant set, so I had to find a new one. The one I found not only renders well, but all the tables are pre-set. I only had to add people to the chairs, which I filled with low resolution people.
Rachel Changes
I'm going with the Ariane in Paradise Rachel as promised, but I widened the face, changed the eyebrows to better fit the classic look, and gave her a slight breast reduction, to look better from the side.
The biggest change from back in August, was going from "School girl" braids, to ponytail braids. Partly to avoid potential censorship issues, but trying to get both braids to fit on the shoulders correctly in every image, was going to be a chore. Most the time the loosely braided hair will fall behind her back, and the resulting front of the head is closer to classic Rachel.
Rachel the Spy
Spoiler: Rachel's plot involves her splitting in two, and one of them is experiencing repeating days. This is the "Redux" part of "Something's In The Air Redux", and it's too clever to leave out.
The old versatile hairstyle will not work on the new Rachel, and it's been a pain to find a comparable replacement. I finally found this, which is close enough, and may be even more versatile. On the good side, the funky retro round sunglasses at least could be used with a little 3D trickery. She has to steal everything from her other self, so I put her in sweat pants which her other self will be unlikely to miss in the summer when the game is set.
Rachel the Model
While the original model had elaborate hair that kept clipping through the body (hence the reason I never used it anywhere else), I'm keeping the purple dress style with a sheer diagonal slash through the middle. The hair style is the one I used in Ariane in Paradise, but not the "blonde" she's apparently famous for, thanks to a rush hair style session.
Opinions on changing Ariane's hair?
While looking for a Rachel short hair style, I accidentally found an Ariane style of hair that looks more "classic" than the DAR2 bangs. I'm thinking this might be a nice change, but I'm also thinking people playing DAR2 might not recognize Ariane. Ariane already has yet a different style in Ariane in Paradise 2. I'm willing to go back for consistency sake, but this style screams "retro classic" to me. Not sure what I really think about it.
Tell me what you think?
Coming Soon: Other character changesI'm having fun redesigning the characters. Ariane and Rachel are mostly based on what I did in AiP and DA2, but now I'm changing all the other characters. When I made "new" characters back in this post, I kind of slapped them together haphazardly. Now I'm taking my time and they are coming together nicely. As of this writing, only Veronica and Heidi haven't changed, yet. Will share more in the near future.
