pancakeswitch - Max Level Dragon Princess, Chapter 131: Soma's Suffering
About This Title
-----
The priests surrounding Soma began to worry, praying while crying and fearing Benladra’s ruthless power, but Soma smiled at them. “Don’t worry. I will not allow you to die... at the very least, I will make sure you all survive, my beloved children.”
“A-Archbishop Soma...!” the believers and members of the church were all taken aback by his words. Several of them lowered their heads, still whispering prayers as they watched him.
Seeing Soma and his pawns conjuring some kind of spell, Benladra’s eyes narrowed. She raised her free hand, and the millions of lingering spears of light above suddenly synchronized, aligning into a single colossal lance of pure divinity that blotted out what little sky remained in the nightmare realm.
FLAAASH!
Everyone looked at the sky in complete disbelief and awe, their mouths wide agape as their eyes couldn’t believe what they saw.
A spear big enough to pierce the entire planet Earth and destroy it!
Was she really going to use it against Soma?!
“Gustaf!” she called without looking back.
From the relative safety of the gravitational pocket where Elizabeth, Gigantia, Vlad, and the other survivors floated, the former King of Frostbane answered.
His glasses gleamed. Gravity itself warped. The space around Soma’s defensive formation compressed violently, crushing the dark barriers inward until cracks spiderwebbed across them.
Crack, crack...!
CRASH!
“?!”
The priests and nuns panicked as they saw the barrier rapidly beginning to gain cracks and shatter apart. Soma looked at the scene worriedly, exerting his force and fighting against Gustaf’s pressure, but the cracks were already made. Pieces of the dark barrier fell away like broken glass.
“Do it, Benladra!” Gustaf said coldly.
Benladra hurled the colossal lance, imbued with the essence of her Nine Heavenly Ascendancy Laws, the very power that had made her so feared as the ultimate being she had become, someone only below her father. The spear left a long trail of light as it flew.
“Heavenly Dragon Queen Spear Grand Art.”
“Nine Heaven Spear of Judgement.”
“All Heaven.”
TRUUUM!
The spear descended.
The impact was apocalyptic.
RUMBLE!
The entire nightmare dimension buckled.
A blinding white-gold nova expanded outward, incinerating floating islands, purifying nightmare essence by the ton, and slamming into Soma with enough force to send the titan hurtling backward.
“KUUUAAAGGGHHH!”
The light was immensely powerful. His entire body disintegrated in places, his barrier shattered, the formation seemed to have been blown away and the people around him disappeared from view for a moment.
“NNNGGHH!”
He tried to hold back as his body slammed through three consecutive islands, each one exploding into debris around him. Black blood sprayed in rivers everywhere, staining the broken stone.
“GAAAAHHH!”
He roared, holding onto the spear as it pierced his chest. It began to pierce the very layered dimensions that composed his own existence as a Tier 1 Spiralwalker.
The true weakness he possessed...
“I found it.”
Benladra had finally found it. He had no core, no internal organs that mattered, no heart, and seemingly, somehow, no soul at all.
So where could she aim? What was his body composed of if nothing but the very power of his own Spiral?
His Physique was the strangest she’d ever seen, truly the work of that wicked Abyssal Mother Goddess that had attempted one last little trick before fully perishing. She pushed the spear deeper while keeping her wings steady.
“Nnnggh...! Aaagghh!”
Soma screamed as several of his arms were completely severed and disintegrated before they could regenerate. The spear reached deep within his existence, finding his Spiral hidden within another plane of existence.
This was why Spiralwalkers were so dangerous, especially at such high Tiers. They were near unkillable, even against the strongest gods such as Benladra...
But she had found it.
She pressed her hands together, as the spear divided into thousands of light spears, piercing the gigantic spiral made of darkness.
The spears pierced the spiral, only to reveal countless blinking red eyes, black flesh and hands everywhere, screaming and bleeding. The sight made her pause for half a second.
“UGH?!”
Benladra was hit with a sudden backlash as her entire body and soul received a sharp pain all over. She vomited blood, making everyone panic under her, but she kept her composure, instantly healing herself. The wound closed before the blood even hit the ground.
“That Spiral...! Soma...! The Abyssal Mother...! What is...! What are they trying to do?! What has he turned himself into...!”
She couldn’t believe it. As she quickly rushed after Soma to finish him, the explosion of her ultimate spear generated a deadly shockwave that rolled outward.
“Hm?!”
She noticed the priests and nuns screamed as the residual shockwave slammed into their formation, which shattered into pieces.
Several were thrown clear, tumbling through the air toward the abyss below. Benladra narrowed her eyes. She didn’t want to be merciful with them.
No more.
She quickly conjured dozens of golden spears of light and sent them toward every member regardless of age, gender, or appearance. The spears flew in straight lines, leaving short trails of gold.
“I committed the mistake of sparing the weak before because I believed you could change, but I’ve come to the conclusion that every member of that wicked cult cannot be trusted! I am sorry, but may you rest in peace!”
The people panicked as they saw the spears rushing at them. Soma’s remaining eyes widened in genuine fear, not for himself, but for them.
“No… not them…! Stop...! QUEEN BENLADRA, NOOOOO!!!”
As he fell with the golden spear still in his chest, feeling like he might truly die if he doesn’t get this off him, he was suddenly possessed by the desire to protect them. His remaining arms pushed against the ground.
“Leave them alone...! ENOUGH!!!”
With a desperate roar, he forced his mutilated body upright. The immense explosion had burned over half of his body, but he quickly flew back toward Benladra, shocking her. Black blood still dripped from the open wounds as he closed the distance.
