Mort's Maps and Adventures - Maps Monday - House of Coin and Covenant - 60x40
About This Title
"Every coin has a story. Every debt has a price. And behind these hallowed walls, someone is keeping score."
In the heart of a prosperous city stands the House of Coin and Covenant, a venerable institution where commerce and divinity share the same roof. Part temple, part bank, part monument to the comforting certainty of compound interest, its marble halls welcome merchants, magistrates, moneylenders, and supplicants alike. Here, fortunes are secured, contracts are sanctified, and the faithful entrust their worldly treasures to something considerably more reliable than divine providence: an extremely well-guarded vault. But wealth attracts attention, and not everyone comes to worship.
This is a detailed 60×40 fantasy urban battlemap designed for adventures where the objective matters as much as the battle. Its central banking hall, administrative offices, secure chambers, and adjoining streets offer plenty of opportunities for both calculated strategy and spectacularly ill-advised improvisation. Beyond the bank itself lies a fully realized neighborhood of shops, residences, workshops, a public bathhouse, quiet courtyards, and crumbling ruins. Every building provides another opportunity for exploration, infiltration, negotiation, or escape.
Adventure Possibilities The Perfect Heist: Assemble a crew, study the neighborhood, exploit the bank's routines, and discover whether the vault's greatest defense is steel, sorcery, or the people guarding it. A Matter of Faith: A sacred relic, entrusted to the bank for safekeeping, has vanished. The institution insists its security is infallible. Someone is lying. The Price of Prosperity: Follow a trail of forged contracts, missing deposits, and murdered witnesses into a conspiracy connecting the city's wealthiest citizens to its most desperate residents. Built for
Your World Whether it serves as a temple of Abadar in Pathfinder, a counting house devoted to Waukeen in the Forgotten Realms, or the headquarters of a powerful independent merchant guild, the Golden Ledger is designed to fit naturally into almost any fantasy city.
