Mort's Maps and Adventures - Maps Monday (Late) - The Sink Hole - 40x40
About This Title
What began as a modest subsidence in a farmer's field has become a yawning wound in the earth. Crops buckle toward the collapsing rim, exposing broken timbers, abandoned mining equipment, and the remnants of ancient workings below. Beneath the surface, a labyrinth of narrow-gauge rails winds through darkened tunnels toward a mysterious stone chamber, its purpose long forgotten. Strange lights flicker amid the rubble, and the ground occasionally trembles with the unsettling suggestion that the collapse is not yet finished. Terrain & Encounter Notes: Yellow triangles mark difficult terrain: loose rubble, unstable earth, and debris that impede movement. The steep sides of the sinkhole require Climb checks, while the surviving rails provide possible routes through the underground workings. The diagonal yellow boundary distinguishes aboveground terrain from the underground level rather than representing a physical wall.
Adventure Hook: Something beneath the fields has awakened, and the sinkhole is growing. The question isn't merely what the miners discovered, but whether their excavations were responsible for what is happening now.
