JDOR - Development Blog - October 2026
About This Title
Hi all,
Time for a full monthly blog a little bit early as I have family visiting for a few days around the time I would have posted it. Even though I don’t have much more to talk about than what I already mentioned in either the last one, there's some stuff I want to cover sooner rather than later.
But first, a quick Chapter 11 update:
Chapter 11I've had a bit of a mad week in terms of the scene I'm currently posing. For the first time since the development of Origin Story began, I'm not posing my scenes in chronological order. There was one particular scene I was desperate to pose asap. This scene will sit almost at the end of the update, but I decided to start posing it roughly after I'd passed the half way mark on the chapter. I'm now approaching the end of it, after which I'll resume posing chronologically the scenes leading up to it, and then the short scenes after.
Unfortunately, this particular scene requires a lot of fresh environments to be built though nothing too major, and character tweaking so it's been a slow one, but we're getting there and I've already done 337 renders for it. I can't say too much more about it because spoilers.
Otherwise, I’m still posing like crazy, though I’ve had to take a step back from posing some and focus on other things to give those render queues time to catch up (queues plural because I’m using both PCs to render now to try and keep up). So, the render count won’t have increased dramatically from the previous time. Though, still up like 100 in the week since I posted the mini-blog... so I'm still on it.
784 fully rendered414 posed and in the render queue
Total 1198 so far.
And I still have 2 big scenes and a few smaller scenes to go.
And the hint for this month is: “Amber’s makeover has unexpected results”
I'm also just going to put it out there that this update is Evelyn heavy. So, if you're crazy and off her path, you're going to have a bad time.
New UINow, I hinted at this in my AMA questions recently and the latest mini-dev update, but one of the big things I’ve had to focus on since the last update is organising a new UI for the game, made by someone with much greater coding skills than I have, or will ever have. This has now been built, and the testing crew and I have been playing around with it.
I was going to hold on to the new UI and package it with the release of Chapter 11… but I figured why wait? I needed to put out an update to Chapter 10 to fix a few things, especially the fact that I messed up and didn’t hide the Sharing option when safe mode was on. So, I figured I could release the UI with the Chapter 10 fix.
This will ONLY be available in Season 2 for now, but I also want it to be ported into Season 1, including on Steam, eventually.
This will be released in a few days so look out for it, but I thought I’d take this opportunity to let you know of some of its features.
Overall sleek new look with a whole bunch of features which will make my life a hell of a lot easier when it comes to releasing new chapters or getting things translated.
New choice menus, warning cards, quick menu icons, ability to not only name saves but name the save pages too… honestly there’s just too much to name.
Sisterhood-themed customizable colour schemes, font size, text box opacity… all the stuff people have been asking me for.
Controller support, Steam Deck support (when it comes to Steam), on screen keyboards, a whole bunch of other accessibility upgrades.
Special Render & Scene Replay galleries now looking much cooler and come with the ability to filter out certain content you may not wish to see. Scene Replay gallery can also be filtered by characters involved.
And the big reason I wanted a new UI… character profiles have been overhauled. Character profiles now come with more in-depth bios that are updated, in real time, as you progress through the game and accurate to the choices you make. There are also unlockable “kinks” that are discovered as the game goes on.
So, as a minor example, in Chapter 10 when Moonsong suggests she might be interested in you making her your sub (you need to be on Emerald's path to get that) and you choose yes. Her biography will automatically update afterwards to give a little bit of detail to say, “you decided to make Georgia your submissive from time to time” in the notes and “Submissive” will be added to her kinks. Or when during the trio training session MC gets a little bit of PTSD and freaks out, and Emerald admits she would have been fine if you pissed on her… “Urination” is added to kinks. Just stuff like that. Pretty cool!
On that note. “Urination” is also added to the optional content filters in advance. So yeah, that’s coming for those few freaks (like me) who saw the teases and were waiting for it. But it's not in chapter 11 so don't hold on to your butts if you're that way inclined just yet.
And, here's a little preview of those character profiles:
A lot of time has been spent combing through the story and picking the big events to add to the bio notes but I can almost guarantee I’ve missed some stuff, so if you ever spot anything you think should be in the bio on your playthrough, shout out.
Ok, that's all I got for now.
Peace.
