About This Title

Having a rough grasp of the situation, Pandora had given it a little thought on the way back.

Of course, it lasted only a moment before she tossed the whole matter out of her mind.

Thinking about that was nowhere near as fun as what came next.

Meeting the puzzled gazes of Louliana and the others, Pandora smiled and sat back down with her two purchases.

"Miss Pandora, what are you...?"

Luluo was the first to ask. Looking at the scissors and the clothes on the table, he seemed lost in thought.

"Since we're going together..." Pandora looked over at Saidela and Odegulas. "This look just won't do."

With that, she snapped her fingers. And then... nothing seemed to happen.

Just as everyone was starting to wonder.

"..." Beside her, Saidela suddenly spoke up. "Th-this is... incredible."

Everyone turned to look. His once-tangled hair had regained its old "luster," and his face looked much cleaner. His clothes were still filthy and rumpled, but he looked as though he'd gone back to the glory days before his downfall.

"So this is magic..."

Deep down, he still didn't quite believe Pandora's frank claim to be a "Witch," so this was the only explanation Saidela could come up with.

Pandora sighed at that.

"Well, think whatever you like."

She was used to it by now.

Before long.

"Louliana, nice work."

Looking at the buzz-cut man in front of her, Pandora patted Louliana's head and praised her.

Louliana, who had already put down the scissors, scratched her cheek. "Sister Naila taught me."

(She really can do everything, huh.)

Shaking her head to chase that gentle head maid out of her mind, Pandora looked at Saidela again. She had to admit, the buzz cut gave him a certain comic charm, though it also made him look a lot sharper and neater, and the comedy was only mild.

Of course, he himself was completely oblivious. He just kept rubbing his head and muttering that it felt "a little strange."

After borrowing a broom and sweeping the floor clean,

"Please change into these." As she spoke, Pandora handed the waiter uniforms she'd bought to Saidela and Odegulas. "Too bad there's no maid outfit. Make do."

Saidela, buzz cut and all, understood what Pandora was getting at. He nodded his thanks and headed for the restroom.

As expected, Odegulas just stared blankly at Pandora, even tilting her head in incomprehension.

"If you want to come along, you need a plausible identity. So changing is the right thing to do."

Seeing that she still hadn't "gotten it," Pandora didn't bother explaining further. She simply pushed her into the restroom.

(I'm a little afraid she'll just change right on the spot...)

Before long, the two of them returned one after the other, their old clothes left behind in the trash can.

Worth mentioning: Saidela actually looked the part once he'd changed. But Odegulas...

Unexpected in the most expected way.

Everything else was fine, but why on earth had she tied the bow tie on her head...

Odegulas only blinked twice when she heard that, looking as though she saw nothing wrong with it.

After a little while, with Louliana's help, everything was finally adjusted properly.

"Mm, not bad, not bad."

Luckily, most of the patrons around had already drunk themselves under the table. If they'd seen the "iceberg" older sister from before turn into a dashing... "dumb-cute" mature beauty? (Something about that feels off.) Who knew what might have happened.

She'd only spent a short time with her, but Pandora guessed that the so-called aloofness, the intimidating air, the unapproachability, was nothing more than a surface impression, caused by Odegulas lacking certain emotions and a certain amount of common sense.

So why would she lack common sense in the first place...?

"That should do it."

With that, Pandora stood and walked toward the bar.

The bartender from before pulled his gaze away from Saidela and Odegulas and forced out a professional smile.

"I'll cover her tab."

"..."

In the end, as the bartender wore an expression somewhere between a laugh and a cry, Pandora paid on her behalf.

(It wasn't a lot, but it would've been enough for a day or two of meals.)

Thinking of her wallet growing a little slimmer, she scratched her head, feeling a pang of regret. At least she shouldn't need to spend any more from here on.

After a sigh, she looked at the group and jerked her head toward the door, signaling them to set off.

[Author's Note: Asking for flowers...]

Getting the signal, Saidela proactively shouldered the dry rations Louliana had just bought (though in the end they'd still have to hang on Trekbear), and took up the rear, carrying himself like a proper attendant.

As for Odegulas, her blank expression, combined with the earlier rumor that "someone got carried out," made her look more like a bodyguard.

The instant Pandora pushed the door open, the somewhat chaotic noise from outside drifted back into everyone's ears.

Once the door closed, the racket from the tavern was cut off.

(No matter how I look at it, this soundproofing is amazing.)

Compared to before, the street now held only a scattering of figures, and even the crowd gathered not far away had quieted down a little.

...

Of course, that was because some of those people were lying on the ground, motionless. Whether they were dead or alive, nobody knew yet...

Shaking her head, she put it out of mind. When she turned around, the first thing she saw was Trekbear's rather massive body.

Sensing Pandora's gaze, Trekbear let out a soft growl, as if greeting her.

She walked over to Trekbear and stroked its head in reply.

Just as she was about to feed Trekbear some dry rations, Odegulas suddenly walked up beside her, which naturally drew everyone's attention.

"This."

As she said it, Odegulas opened her raised hand.

"..."

Looking at the button lying peacefully in her palm, Pandora didn't know what to say. She sighed and gestured for Odegulas to hand it over.

She then set the button at the spot where it had come off, and the instant she let go, it "stuck" right back on.

"All fixed."

(Good thing it was the bottom button... If it had been the top one... cough. No ifs.)

Odegulas merely nodded, her eyes fixed on Pandora without blinking.

Just as Pandora grew puzzled and was about to ask, Odegulas suddenly raised her arm, palm closing around empty air toward Pandora's right side.

With a sharp crack, a black figure was suddenly in her hand.

"..."

So Odegulas really was that formidable.
