Troygentic - Diablo 1 Remake (DamnationX) - Release Trailer (Unofficial) + HD Pack
About This Title
DamnationX is our unofficial fan remake of Diablo 1 with HD graphics. This update brings the desktop game to our custom Toxoid engine, with 3D environments, optional ray-traced lighting, animated water, new hero models and a rebuilt pause menu.
The new launcher handles your game files, local HD packs, and imports from your own Diablo II: Resurrected installation. You can switch between 3D, HD 2D and Classic graphics.
It's still a beta. Animations and assets are still being worked on, and we want your feedback. Play it, break it and tell us what needs fixing on Discord:
Playing on desktop
Download the combined game and launcher package for your platform:
https://github.com/trygentic/damnationx/releases/tag/v1.6.0-beta.8
Extract the whole package, open the launcher and select the folder containing your own DIABDAT.MPQ. Keep the bundled files together.
D2R graphics and sounds are optional. If you own Diablo II: Resurrected, use the launcher's import tools to convert assets locally. We don't include D2R game assets in the downloads.
Playing in your browser
1. Open https://damnationx.net in Chrome or Edge with WebGPU support.
2. In the Game Disc panel, select your own DIABDAT.MPQ. The shareware SPAWN.MPQ works too.
3. Click LOAD DAMNATIONX.
The browser uses its separate WebGPU renderer. The new custom engine and D2R graphics require the desktop version.
Using your HD pack
Unzip the HD pack on your computer. In the browser, open HD & Sound, click Choose HD Folder… and select the unzipped pack. On desktop, select or import it through the launcher's Asset library.
The browser's HD & Sound panel also imports sounds from an owned Diablo II or D2R installation. Files are read locally; nothing gets uploaded.
Thank you for supporting DamnationX and helping us keep improving it.
