About This Title
Hello!
The sci fi vote results are in!
So this poll was a pretty tight race. Cthulhu came up on top so I'll definitely try my interpretation of H.P. Lovecraft's iconic monster. After that it was basically a three way tie between Malcom Reynolds from Firefly, the Macross Mech and the Helldivers Super Destroyer. I did want to try doing the Super Destroyer but with the Star Wars AT-RT and AT-AT already queued I don't think it's all manageable next month. So I'll slot Malcom Reynolds and the Macross Mech for now.
Onto this month's bonus reward which is a LOTR fan request!
Gothmog (not to be confused with the Orc from Return of the King) is said to be greatest Balrog to ever walk Middle-earth. He was High-captain of Angband, being Morgoth's front-line lieutenant as well as holding the Lord of Balrogs title. Gothmog fought many battles in the name of his master, and was personally responsible for killing two of the High Kings of the Ñoldor.
From what I can tell, Gothmog is not very different visually from a standard Balrog except being noticeably larger. He, like the rest of his kind carried a fiery whip into battle, but was also distinguished by wielding a great black axe, feared by Elves across Beleriand.
The LOTR fan provided with this image so I based my version roughly on those aesthetics giving him a distinctive head, wing and axe. I also made some minor armor variation options to mix things up a bit.
Finally, I wanted to give community members a heads up on some changes that will be happening on my 3DArtGuy patreon in the next few months.
Next month, my 3DArtGuy homepage will be altered to the newer interface you might have seen used by other creators. This is not by choice. Patreon is forcing all creators to adopt the newer GUI by the middle of next month and there is no option for legacy features. I'm not particularly enthusiastic about this but like a lot of the platform...renovations, this is out of my hands. But who knows, maybe community members prefer the newer visual style. Regardless, I'll see what I can do to make the new page look presentable.
The Consulter welcome pack has become quite large and is due for another cleanup by the end of the year. So my plan is to take the majority of the 2022 content and move it exclusively to my MMF storefront. But I'll keep all of it in the welcome pack until December 31st.
That's another Fantasy wrapped up! As usual, everything done this month will be in next month's release and the listing will be in the public post. If you get a chance, please inform LOTR fans, Ravenloft fans or hobbyists looking for cool castles about the upcoming release. Thanks and Happy Halloween!
