Yae Miko is gone.
She was always the one who turned up out of nowhere. Teasing the Traveler with that knowing smile, then slipping away before anyone could answer back.
At first, the Traveler thought it was another of her games.
But the days went by, and the shrine maidens of the Grand Narukami Shrine and the staff of Yae Publishing House did everything they could.
Still, no one knew where she had gone.
So the Traveler hired a private detective to find her.

Striped light fell through the blinds onto the detective's desk.
Without a word, the detective slid a brown envelope across it. A single typed label on the front.
EVIDENCE FILE: GUTTER SLUTS
SUBJECT: YAE MIKO
LOCATION: BACK ALLEY
Out came photographs. Many of them.
The first was a still from a security camera. A convenience store, late at night. 2026/11/02, 23:41.
A woman in a beige trench coat is walking in through the door.
Long pink hair. There was no mistaking her.

はじめは、旅人もまた彼女の戯れだと思っていた。
けれど日が過ぎ、鳴神大社の巫女たちも、八重堂の者たちも、手を尽くした。
それでも、行方はわからなかった。
だから旅人は、私立探偵に捜索を頼んだ。

ブラインド越しの光が、探偵事務所の机に縞を落としている。
探偵は何も言わずに、茶封筒を机の上に差し出した。表には、ラベルが一枚。

中から出てきたのは、何枚もの写真だった。
一枚目は、防犯カメラの映像だった。深夜のコンビニ。2026/11/02、23時41分。
ベージュのトレンチコートの女が、ドアを開けて入ってくる。
長い桃色の髪。見間違えるはずがなかった。
