Hey everyone!
Every week you will be getting a pdf and video tutorial on one subject. Both tutorials are complementary. In the pdf one you will find a step by step information on the entire process including the list of paints and techniques used, while the video one will focus on seeing how I paint in real time. I am presenting you with a new series this week. I will be painting a Horus Heresy Space Wolves Saturnine Dreadnought covered with norse runestone inspired freehand patterns.
For this week I am painting the shoulder pad with a classic stone-grey colorscheme of the 30k Wolves. I actually decided to split this into 3 sets of tutorials, otherwise the videos would be over an hour, which I think is just too much for a single tutorial. In the first set I am building up the color, shadows, and nuances and also sketching the freehand pattern with darklining. In the second part I will be correcting the pattern, adding shadows and highlights, while in the third one I will paint freehand runes and apply precise spot highlights to top of the pattern.
This tutorial was done using Pro Acryl and Greenstuff World paints.
