All it takes is one safari trip gone wrong, one taste of the wrong wild fruit, and then your guide and the rest of the group are all staring at you in horror as if you've grown a snout...which you have...and suddenly you're not fit for polite society anymore. There are some accommodations, as this sort of thing happens several times a year...the "So you've turned into a weird tiger thing" pamphlets (which you don't bother to read), a starter care package, and a few locals willing to stay in contact for a few months, but otherwise...you're left to your own devices.
And then it turns out you really should've read the pamphlets, because they point out the other fruits to avoid as well, the ones which enhance certain assets...
