NikhilClayton - ReacTT+: Teen Titans - Trouble in Tokyo Pt 1
About This Title
See! We are doing the movie!
If you can even really call it that haha. Honestly, I still hold that the 3-part finale to season 4 felt much more like "Teen Titans: The Movie." This was just a sort of long episode of the show. Which isn't meant as an insult! I loved the show and I really enjoyed this film, I just don't think it hit the same level of gravitas as even some of the stronger episodes from the main run.
Also it just...is not about Starfire haha. She has an arc, yes. But I always heard people say this was supposed to be her "season," to make up for the show getting canned before her real one. And, I'm sorry, I just don't see it. I'd hope that if Star DID get a season focus, it'd be with a personal villain and reflect something more about her character than just her relationship.
But, for what it actually is, this film is a very fun time. It allows us to say goodbye to the characters and world in a much happier way. And it showcases the best parts of the series, while not being afraid to take the characters to new places (literally, in this case).
Overall, the highest praise I can give is: it reminded me what made the show so special in the first place.
