The Griffon's Saddlebag - Kraken's Cutlass
infoAbout This Title
Weapon (scimitar), rare
This dark scimitar has inky swirls throughout its blade. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Once per turn when you would make a melee attack with it, you can choose to throw it at a creature that you can see within 15 feet of you instead (as if it had the thrown property). When you do, the blade's tentacle-like guard extends, but it remains gripped to your outstretched hand; hit or miss, the blade then retracts to your hand after the attack.
In addition, when you roll a 20 on an attack roll made with this weapon, the target must also succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is covered by a spray of magical squid ink and is blinded for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns for the duration, ending the effect early on a success.
Many are those who seek the salvation of the shore. What those poor unfortunate souls fail to realize: you are never truly beyond the kraken's reach.
