About This Title
Hello Patreons! Producer Nicole here.
The SUM team started discussing making a video about hot dogs just after 4th July this year, when both Matt and I were in New York, and the smell of freedom wafted sausagefully through the air. I will admit my main objective was for us to eat tax-deductible hot dogs again like we did in Chicago a couple of years ago. But lo and behold, Babish had made this outlandish surface area claim in one of his cooking videos and, well, we couldn't help but take the bait.
We know that this is definitely on the "silly" end of the Stand-up Maths cinematic spectrum (which is already deeply skewed towards silly as it is). But you know us, we try to take silliness as seriously as possible.
The video-filming BBQ took place on a beautiful sunny day in the UK, and we made a proper party of it. I hope it feels worthwhile that your extremely generous Patreon donations are being spent on corn cobs and burger buns. You have made a hungry filming crew very happy this year. Rest assured even Skylab got some.
As always let us know if you spot any mistakes or anything that needs clarifying in the video. Thanks for your diligence and support!
PS Researcher Rhys here - you may have noticed an additional post. I was a bit quick off the mark, overly keen whilst working on getting things ready for the GTWI tour starting in a few days. Whilst I'm here there's a little video of Matt from the filming we've been passing around the team since filming...
