About This Title
Every month I set you all a special, exclusive track written by myself with a specific theme - and it's up to you guys to come up with a tasty solo over it!Download the backing track attached to this post, write and record your entry, then submit your finished video at the pinned Drive link in the dedicated Solo Challenge channel on the community Discord server. At the end of the month I host a big live hangout event and go through every single one of your entries together and pick a winner! Every participant gets a good chunk of Beans currency to spend on the Discord server and the winner gets a special prize As always, ALL ability levels are welcome! This is by no means a shred contest. This month we're shaking things up and covering every Metal shredder's favorite non-Metal genre - Gypsy Jazz! Pioneered by the late, great Django Reinhardt, Gypsy features a lot of paralleles to Metal: minor chord progressions, fast tempos, Harmonic Minor shred, chromatics, crazy arpeggios. As usual I've provided you with a walkthrough video showing you how I'd approach writing something for this track to hopefully give you guys some inspiration! As always you can use the Discord server to discuss the challenge with your fellow participants.Good luck!
