infoAbout This Title
Dear Tape Notes Member
Happy October! Here's our usual round-up of what's being going on around Tape Notes over the past month. As usual - a lot!
We released full video episodes with electronic pioneer Bonobo (aka Simon Green), Giles Martin, talking about the new special edition of The Beatles' Rubber Soul and American singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine, her third visit to the Tape Notes studio!
Below the paywall: a round-up of paid member-only content, the chance to win 6 months' free membership of our Premium tier, info about our upcoming live show, John doing a modelling shoot and a sneak peek at upcoming episode dates!
LATEST EPISODE - LIZZY MCALPINE!Member Joshua Brits commented on this episode: "Lizzy and team are producing some of the highest quality art out there right now". We completely agree! Lizzy first sat down with John for episode 107 in 2022 and returned for episode 147 in 2024. If you're on our Premium tier you can still watch them! For her third visit, to break down her latest record Angel, she brought back collaborators Mason Stoops and Taylor Mackall, plus engineer Omar Akrouche.

TN: 190 THE BEATLES (GILES MARTIN)This was a slightly different and very special episode for us, sitting down with award-winning producer Giles Martin in his Abbey Road studio to discuss his remastering of the new special edition of the seminal Beatles album Rubber Soul. We learned so much and finally got confirmation that the Fab Four did sing "Tits"! Member Toastedmeat said, "It's like seeing a classic in 4K!"
The ultimate seal of approval on this episode was a collaboration with the official Beatles Instagram account, which sent our follower count stratospheric!

TN: 189 BONOBOLast month, Bonobo, aka Simon Green paid a second visit to Tape Notes to break down his brand new record Distance in Static. Member C commented, "An absolute masterclass in Ableton production from Si and a stellar interview from John."
Si also told us he's a huge fan of Tape It, the professional recording app created by our good friend Thomas, which we gave Si after his last visit back in October 2024! There can be no higher recommendation! If you use voice notes, give Tape It a try! Our team honestly love it!
