About This Title

Spooky forest for #86! Today we are taking our masking fluid and layering it even more than before! Go darker than you think you should with your first few layers of watercolor because they will be lighter when you remove them. Don't worry so much about the placement of your watercolor, because the masking is what creates the shapes. Experiment and see what works, save lighter colors and then if they don't work, or you don't like them you can always paint darker colors over the top. I can't wait to see how you do with this one. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Masking: Winsor and Newton pigmented masking fluid and daniel smith fine point

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette. All colors are Winsor and Newton, except the manganese is Holbein - cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, manganese, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red, indigo, sap green and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton
