I don't feel ready but time is moving and that's annoying. In the next few months, we will both complete two projects and start two new ones. There are multiple reasons why I don't feel truly prepared for it.
Right now, both The Edge Of and He Maid Her Fall are in their last phase of the story. The "action" is degenerating to a point where scenes can be back to back.
My artists for the most part are keeping up. Though my The Edge Of artist is slow. There are still 4 scenes left for him and I'm still unsure he will be done with them for next month.
The biggest bottleneck is the animator. Right now he can do about 5 animations in a month. Separated in two projects… it's quite tight at this moment. I asked him if he could do more, will have to wait to hear his answer.
In any case, I'm prioritizing He Maid Her Fall, always. So there won't be any delay for it, hopefully. Maybe slightly bit smaller, but no delay.
The Edge Of, on the other end, while I think I should be able to handle it for this month, I do not know if The Edge Of will be able to complete next month. The last update will probably need 5 animations by itself. I will keep you guys informed in any case. It would make me quite sad if that were the case.
Anyway, with this out of the way, let's talk about progress.
He Maid Her Fall
I am missing 2 illustrations for this month, and three animations. Crossing fingers that this will fall in order on its own.
I'm not going to promise anything though. Usually I release it around the 17th of the month, this time I'll say it will be ready for the 20th of August.
The Edge Of – Definitive Edition
For this one, I have all the illustrations, but I don't have any of them animated. Need 2 animations, I think. Plus the voice acting, of course.
This update will be a bit less than half the "yes" ending from Beth's perspective.
The same as the past few months, I will say the update for The Edge Of will release around the 28th.
Upcoming NTS project
I'm still writing it. Because of how tight everything is, I can't really ask my artist to work on it (he's working on He Maid Her Fall). So I have nothing to show you.
Instead I think I will at least reveal this today so that it won't be a surprise coming a few months. The NTS project has both perspectives fully separated. So it's like The Edge Of, POV wise, not A Promise Best Left Unkept. The advantage is that you can see all of the events from both characters. The disadvantage is sometimes there are some repetition, and the pacing is structured in a different way.
Some will like it, others won't. But I thought this was the best option for NTS. This is not something that can be changed. I just wanted to let you guys know.
Upcoming Fantasy project
My artist is still working on it. I have the first three CGs (+ cover) ready. I also have one side character sprite. I contacted someone to work on the GUI. And I will start looking for the voice actresses this month, I think.
It's slowly moving. The goal was to release the first version in October, but I don't know with the issues with The Edge Of. We will see. I would like to hear what you guys think.
Anyway, I don't want to show the CGs because I think they are spoilers. So all I'm going to share today is a side character sprite. This is Hetryn's father, Kastvel. He is the village chief.
I guess I can also share this since people on Discord are bothering me so I had to give them a bone. At the beginning of the story, Varnel (the protagonist) is being captured Hetryn's clan.
Anyway, that's all for today. I might run a poll on something later this month. Dunno. I'm busy and lazy.
