Hi everyone, I wanted to share some WIPs for upcoming illustrations as well as write a long-overdue health update.
Fun stuff first! I'm currently working on a solo shot of Rhea (FE3H) showing off her... large assets. I’ve also got a pinup of Adeline from Fields of Mistria in progress. Her charmingly retro design made me want to try doing my own interpretation. Both characters were YCH tier requests. I didn't feel the back shot suited Adeline, so I whipped up a new pose for her. Ecchistar got excited when he saw me drawing Adeline and offered to do the finishing pass on the drawing, so new collab I guess. :) Anyways, they're both coming along nicely.
As for me... I believe the last time I wrote about my health woes was back in April, when my arm problems had flared up again along with neck pain and a suspected herniated disc. Since then it’s been a barrage of tests and doctor visits. The MRI showed severe stenosis at the C6-7 vertebrae, meaning the nerves are being compressed enough to cause pain and weakness radiating down my arms.
I’ve tried an epidural steroid injection and numerous physical therapy sessions, but neither has helped much. The final step is surgical intervention. The procedure that's been recommended for me is an Anterior Cervical Disc Arthroplasty. Basically they remove the damaged disc and replace it with an artificial one, preserving mobility while relieving the nerve compression. And I become a cyborg, lol. Kinda scary (as is anything involving one's spine), but I’m really hoping it’ll finally alleviate the pain and arm fatigue I feel every time I draw.
Surgery is scheduled for later this month, and the recovery time just happens to coincide with the release date for Fortune's Weave. Hehehe. Very much looking forward to that at least. (I have the Collector's Edition preordered). The good news is, if everything goes smoothly, recovery is fairly quick, and I should be back to drawing within a week or two, and hopefully feeling much better!
