About This Title

Bring the BEEF — Original SoundtrackSaltwater Voyager | Darius & Arthur

Hey guys!

I've been wanting to share this one with you.

As I've mentioned before, music is becoming an important part of how I want to tell certain stories in Bring the BEEF. Not every character will have a song, but for some of them, in very specific moments, music gives me an opportunity to explore feelings, contradictions, and sides of their personalities that might be harder to express through dialogue alone.

And this time, we're stepping into the complicated world of Darius.

Our Guildmaster. Powerful. Confident. Ridiculously handsome. The kind of man who could probably have any man on the island falling at his feet with a single look.

And yet...

For some completely unreasonable reason, he's absolutely determined to pursue the ONE man who keeps slipping through his fingers.

Or should I say...

The one lion.

Enter Arthur.

Our charming, insufferable gentleman thief, who seems to have made an entire career out of stealing things, breaking rules, and making Darius question every decision he's ever made.

Darius could have anyone.

ANYONE.

But no.

He wants the criminal.

The one who keeps escaping. The one who always has another clever excuse, another infuriating smile, and absolutely no intention of making things easy.

And Darius follows.

Across harbors, across oceans, across places neither of them ever expected to see.

But there's a difference between chasing a man and knowing whether he wants to be found.

And that's where Saltwater Voyager comes in.

This song explores a quieter, more vulnerable side of Darius.

Behind the confidence, the determination, and the endless pursuit, there's a man who has begun to wonder whether the person he's chasing will ever turn around.

Because perhaps Arthur doesn't want him.

Or perhaps Arthur hasn't quite figured out what he wants yet.

And maybe that's the cruelest part of it all.

What happens when the man who could have anyone finds himself wanting the one person he cannot seem to reach?

And what happens when crossing an entire ocean still isn't enough to close the distance between two hearts?

That's the feeling I wanted to explore with Saltwater Voyager.

A song about longing, uncertainty, and the strange loneliness of pursuing someone who always seems just beyond the horizon.

Because even the most confident man on the island can find himself completely lost when it comes to matters of the heart.

And I think there's something both beautiful and terribly human about that.

I hope you enjoy it, and that it gives you a little glimpse into the relationship between these two.

There's definitely more to their story than either of them would care to admit.

Much love,

The Dev

SALTWATER VOYAGER — LYRICS

[Verse 1]

I packed my heart in a wooden crateLeft it down by the harbor gateThe moon is a coin in a black silk skyWatching the salt water go byI'm just a ghost on a shifting floorCounting the miles from the shore

[Chorus]

And did you sail across the sunTo tell me that I'm not the oneI'm drifting outI'm drifting outDid you find a better blueSomewhere far away from youI'm drifting outI'm drifting out

[Verse 2]

The rigging hums a lonesome tuneUnder a pale and heavy moonMy hands are rough and the rope is coldTelling the stories I never toldMaybe the whales know where you wentWith every letter I never sent

[Chorus]

And did you sail across the sunTo tell me that I'm not the oneI'm drifting outI'm drifting outDid you find a better blueSomewhere far away from youI'm drifting outI'm drifting out

[Bridge]

The stars are just holes in a lonely tentWondering where the daylight wentI'm pulling the anchor, I'm letting goInto the dark and the undertow

[Final Chorus]

And did you sail across the sunTo tell me that I'm not the oneI'm drifting outI'm drifting outDid you find a better blueSomewhere far away from youI'm drifting outI'm drifting out
