Didrik Magnus-Andresen - Once we ran
About This Title
Once we ran in green grass, flowers on your head, crowned in sunshine.
But those days have been blown away, as a flower bends beneath your breath. And now I sit here, breathless, having climbed the hills in search of our childhood’s glee.
Lost, but not forgotten.
For I know, that the moment when we once stood amid the green grass, where golden flowers now bloom, shall remain there eternal, that one moment of our great happiness.
And as the river runs through our valley, so does a tear run down my cheek. But not in sadness, rather in an exalted release, basking in the sun of spring.
A poem found on a clay tablet in a ruined village of the Central Kingdom, attributed to Urmayara the scribe.
