About This Title

Emmett hands you the EVA glove and you put it on.

You slowly and very carefully dig into the rubber around the figure's face. The goo feels more like glue as you peel back clump after clump until you see fur. The webs cling to your glove and with each successful removal of a layer, the less mobile your fingers become until a ball of rubber grips your hand. You look down at the crewmate who is still slightly dazed and in a trance. You set the glove aside and try to get his attention by waving your hand in front of his eyes. He blinks, his eyelids half-open.

"W-wah..." he manages to stutter. You quickly signal for him to keep his voice down before peering behind you to scan for movement. He looks at your rubbery body and lets out a yelp.

You try to calm him down before he gets too agitated; you explain the current lockdown situation and that you're not one of the goo creatures trying to take over people. His eyes widen with fear but you wave your hands trying to reassure him of your mental clarity and rationality. He gulps and shakes his head nervously.

"I-I, I was on my way here..." he shuts his eyes, trying to remember. "No, I was trying to steer us into nearby company and—" He looks down at his body and stifles a cry. He tries to move his arms but his entire body with the chair wobbles instead. His breathing quickens.

"No, no, no; that spider, it's keeping us to feed its offspring. You've got to help me, please!"

You reassure him, knowing full well there might be no way to free him without sacrificing something or waking whatever is in the nest. He seems to accept your words of reassurance in his mental haze and swallows before looking down at the screen.

"Yes, I remember. I was attempting to contact the Syndicate with the ship's situation. The— the THING got loose after experimentation and started replicating itself. The glob started to merge with anything and everything, even crewmates. We couldn't tell who was friend or foe. Lockdown forced us all into closed spaces where the goo started absorbing and assimilating people. I managed to escape the ship's hull and made it here to try and steer us toward help."

You ask him if the captain's keycard is able to undo the lockdown. He thinks for a moment. "Yes, it should." He knocks his head forward as if to slap his hand against his forehead. "Why didn't I think of that?"

He curses under his breath and you look at Emmett who agrees that finding the captain is the best move. You ask where the captain would be.

"I think I know where but you've got to free me— you've got to get me out of here!" His panic is finally setting in and he struggles against the thick webs wrapped around his body. The chair shakes and he grunts as he attempts to wiggle himself free. All this commotion is definitely going to wake something up. One of the cocoons behind you starts to swell and ooze leaks out from its side. A shiny slime the size of a hand seeps out onto the ground You look around for an escape path but both exits are too far to reach in time.

> Try to free the crewmate.> Subdue the crewmate.> Hide in the shadows and watch.
