Matthew Joberns - Progress Report - November

Hey everyone, hope you’ve all had a good Halloween. Got a lot of things planned for this month as well as some other things I would like to work on if there stuff you’d like to see. The main thing will be the scene poll where it is still going so could change who wins but for now it looks like the an*l one will be the next scene but it is very very close there is only about 10 votes in it so it could change over the next couple of days.

Next Scene - An*l Or POV

Starting with the new scene that is being worked on there are two that could still win and there is a couple of days left on the poll to get the voting in so it could change. The one that is currently winning though is the close up An*l which is looking really good so far, here is a quick look at it.

I don’t know the best location for this one so if you have any suggestions please let me know, I feel like it could fit in well anywhere.

Then for the one thats currently the runner up, that is the POV D*ggy which a lot of people have wanted for a while as its been in a few polls.

Here’s a look at that. I think the best place for this would be other the Office or Reception as both of them have a desk but maybe on the side in the poll could work well as a second location, we’ll have to see. If you have any suggestions for other scenes though that could be in future polls let me know.

The next scene poll coming next month will be a thr*esome one as we haven’t had one of them for ages and the poll after that will be a f*otjob one so any you think could fit in either of those let me know :)

Character Poll This Month - Runners Up

For the character poll this month I am going with runners up from previous polls but not including any anime themed ones to give some of the others a chance.

Here is a look at some of the ones I think will do well in it but I would like this poll to be quite a big one so if there are any other characters you’ve seen in previous polls you think could do really well but maybe they were there at the wrong time or something let me know and I can probably get them added as well.

I don’t know what I would like the theme after this to be, maybe a video game or western/comic one could be good as we haven’t had them for ages.

If you have any suggestions you think could fit into any of them let me know and I can try get some sketches done ready for it :)

B*ob Play Feature

This is the feature I was focusing on last update and I think the parts I have added have come out really well. I really like the way the code works now and also how the animation is looking.

I do have some other scenes sketches ready to get them added too but would like to do even more than that and try get it added to as many scenes as possible, so if you have any suggestions for others where you think it would work well let me know.

I would also like to add a couple of customisation things. So at the moment there is the mode that lets you click and keep the b*ob play active which is quite good for when you want to play with both. I also thing it might be nice to add a speed slider that lets you change the speed of the play independent of the actual scenes animation.

What I will probably do is add a settings menu that will have these options as well as any future ones similar to how the speed slider settings menu works. I would like to keep working on this over the next update but let me know if its something you’d like.

Feature Focus - More Audio / Character Redesign

For the feature focus update thats going to be worked on towards the end of this month its still very close between two options. The first of these being the more audio options where I will be getting some more audio types added to some of the characters as well as the spoken options added to the characters that don’t yet have any. This will be quite a big update for the audio which we haven’t had in a while so think it will be a nice one to win.

The runner up at the moment is the head design option that will include some more stuff for Charlie where she will get a few more customisation options as well as getting some redesigns done for the other characters.

If there are any other characters that have redesigns you think would be nice let me know and I’ll try get them added sketch so we can see what they will look like.

Still Images

The image im going to be working on for the next update is going to be for Millie. Here are a couple of the ones I could do for her with one of them also including Pulchra which could be fun.

Then there is also a third that is being worked on so that could come, I will probably show you that in the next post and then we can decide what’s best.

I also have the others for Pulchra being worked on so those will be coming in the update after next and we will be alternating between the two until both characters have 3 images :)

Image Animations - Improvements

For the image animation this month I would like to get another one added for Chel.

Here is the one I was thinking, I think it will be quite a fun one but let me know if there’s any others you’d like to see get done. Maybe this one for Emma would be good as well as she could do with another animation.

I also wanted to work a bit more on some improvements to this feature, I know a lot of people would like audio which I think could be done in the future but I’d like to start off with some other stuff first and I was thinking of a speed slider but let me know if thats something you’d like to see here.

Third Floor - Bamboo

Finally for the third floor background the bamboo theme is the one being worked on at the moment and here’s a look at how this going.

Hopefully this will be ready for either the next update or the one after and I can get it all added in a set up the we can move onto the next theme.

There’s still quite a lot of themes that need to get done for the third floor but we are getting there so hopefully not too long now :))
