About This Title
Here's the new Froggy investigation, available to you first here on Patreon!
This time, Froggy dives into the heated debate surrounding Andrés Segovia and the myth that he disliked, or even hated, Agustín Barrios.
One thing that the movie Mangoré: Por Amor al Arte got completely wrong is that Segovia actually liked La Catedraland even asked Barrios for a copy of the score!
I can't help thinking that this story might have played out very differently if Segovia had received that score. Maybe he would have even performed the piece himself, giving Barrios some much-deserved recognition during his lifetime. Who knows? But this isn't a history channel, so of course there's plenty of music too! Froggy takes a closer look at some remarkable passages from four of Barrios' most impressive compositions. There's some seriously beautiful harmony and voice leading to discover.
I really hope you enjoy the video, and I'd love to hear what you think about the whole Segovia–Barrios controversy.
And one more important thing:
I've included your names in the end credits of the video as a small thank you for supporting this channel and making these projects possible. I really appreciate it!
Please check the credits and let me know if your name is missing or if you'd prefer not to be mentioned publicly. I plan to upload the video to YouTube this weekend, so there's still time to make changes.
On Monday I'll upload a PDF here featuring all the notes and tabs from this video.
Thanks again for all your support!
