This one's pretty fresh, I know. Giannis Antetokounmpo is gone to Miami, and the once-champion Milwaukee Bucks are gonna suck this year. That's not so bad! They won an NBA title together. Giannis will have his number retired in Milwaukee. The hardware is hard, the legacy will survive, etc.
But still ... how did we get here? It's not that hard to imagine a world in which the Bucks won another title, or at least came close, and it's not hard at all to imagine a world in which Giannis stayed a Buck forever. So why not?
