dcorsetto - Elephant Town: decluttering the clutter

More from dcorsetto dcorsetto - Happy Daily Comics Day, have some dilapidated motels!!

About This Title

In preparation for starting the second half of this book (in a few weeks!!), I'm decluttering the messy Elephant Town folder on my computer. Unlike the tidy GWS folder, ET has amassed multiple retconned pages, flitting about in the wrong folders, with names like "Ch01 P05 fix FINAL FINAL.jpg," and ten different versions of the ET header image with Miranda peeping out of the window.

All of the in-progress files from Chapter 17 were also there, untouched, ready to be trashed. Like the no-longer-needed pencils & value sketch for this page:

But what I enjoyed seeing the most were the digital pencils for the second page, empty and completely unaware of the transformation that awaited them in the inking & coloring stage.

The amount of items I inked on this next panel, only to obscure it all behind a layer of blue!

I wanted this chapter to feel very still, despite the chaos of the clutter around Mister Bortnik.

Every story in this page was told by the light that was added in the final stage.

I'll probably share more random, misplaced files next weekend, before new pages begin. Thanks for joining me on this little revisiting of the pages I finished almost exactly three years ago! I can't wait to keep adding to them.
