About This Title

Another Disney character joins the Cats3D collection, and this time it is Moana.

This model was one of those where the small details really made the difference. The flower crown, the necklace, the layered top, the leaves and the skirt all add a lot of personality, and I wanted to keep as much of that richness as possible even at Mini Flexi scale.

For the version shown in the photos I went all the way and used 9 colors. That gave me enough freedom to keep the different elements separated and preserve the little details that make the character immediately recognizable.

The result is definitely one of those models where the extra colors add a bit of magic.

Colors I used

For the full version shown in the photos I used:

Bambu Lab Latte Brown for the skin

Bambu Lab Desert Tan

Bambu Lab Pink

Bambu Lab White

Bambu Lab Cyan

Bambu Lab Black

Bambu Lab Maroon Red for the darker red areas

Bambu Lab Sunflower Yellow

Green for the leaf details

The combination of Latte Brown and Desert Tan worked especially well here, helping to keep the skin, skirt and lighter natural elements visually separated.

9 colors... but 4 colors are also possible

The full version uses 9 colors because I wanted to preserve as many details as possible, but I know that not everyone has that many colors available.

For that reason, I have also prepared simpler proposals that can be printed with 4 colors.

The idea is not necessarily to reproduce every single color exactly. You can combine some details, reuse the same filament in different areas and create your own interpretation of the character.

For example, you can simplify the flowers, necklace, skirt details or some of the clothing accents and still keep a very recognizable Moana.

So feel free to experiment.

The 9-color version is the detailed reference, but the 4-color versions are there to make the model much more accessible to standard AMS setups.

Printing

There are quite a few small details in this model, especially around the flower crown, hair, eyes and skirt.

The layered skirt was also an important part of the design, because I wanted it to keep some depth instead of becoming a single flat mass.

As always, the model was designed with FDM printing in mind and tested with the results shown in the photos.

If you decide to change the color arrangement, I strongly recommend checking the preview in the slicer before printing. With a model like this, even a small color change can create a completely different look.

Physical sales license

Members who have a physical sales license may sell physical prints of my models while their membership is active.

So if you sell at fairs, markets, online or locally, Moana is ready to join your collection.

Access reminder

Please remember that membership gives access to the models currently included in your tier and does not automatically provide access to every model previously released by Cats3D Studio.

You can always check the Mini Flexi Hub to see the models and resources currently available.

Older models can also be found through my MakerWorld and Cults3D pages.
