About This Title
This morning when I woke up and initially wrote this comic, I had so many thoughts on corsets and their place in media and culture and how weird it is that in at least two different movies Tim Burton takes aim at social conformity (brave stance, Timmy) via a very corset-critical scene. Yet, every non-evil female character he’s ever designed looks like she’s undergone a surgical procedure embedding a corset in place of her organs and most of her ribcage.
And by the way, that’s fine! But what do you really even believe in?! Are you pro-organs or not? You can’t have your cake and eat it too! I mean, I guess you can, given that Hot Topic is still stocking Nightmare Before Christmas hoodies. But I don’t think you should be able to have your cake and eat it too. At the very least, share some of that cake with your characters! They’re starving!
But anyway, like I said, I had a lot of thoughts on that. But I’ve stayed up rather late drawing this comic. So I don’t think I have the energy to get into it right now.
