You know what, though? Why is there even a vague age threshold for trick-or-treating?! Like, there isn’t one for giving and getting gifts on Christmas! Is trick-or-treating really any more “childish” than that tradition? Sure, for Christmas you can “age up” your gifts to make it feel more like a super-serious, grown-up pastime. But are you really telling me that you’re too mature to eat a piece of candy?! You’re above it, somehow?
But maybe you’re thinking “Sure, but I can buy my own candy”. Mother-fuck, man! That is not the point! You know what else I could buy on my own? Everything I’ve ever gotten for Christmas! Not… every single thing, all at one time, mind you. I’m not that crazy flush with cash. Point is, I could acquire it all on my own! But it’s not about the things, it’s about the connection, the experience, that… creation of a special moment.
Grow up! And if you give me an apple or dental floss, I will be TPing your house! And it will be a high-grade bathroom tissue. I mean, I am an adult.
